Did you know the “lemon law” has nothing to do with used cars? The Lemon Law is a federal statute that pertains to brand new vehicles return to the manufacturer selling dealership in need of a repair at least three or more times for the same problem. Once this occurs, the selling manufacturer must offer to purchase the vehicle back from the buyer and reimburse all money spent to acquire the defective product. Upon such a factory buyback, the vehicle is labeled and Lemon Law Buyback and a yellow sticker is permanently attached to the driver’s door pillar.
